Commerzbank SEPA XML Requirements: Structured Addresses and Future-Dated Batches

Commerzbank's own online banking generally accepts a well-formed pain.001 file, but two implemented profile behaviors are worth checking before you upload: the execution date and the shape of the beneficiary address.

Common rejections and the direct fix

• Execution date rejected. Pick a value date at least one business day ahead. This is a hard requirement of the Commerzbank profile, not a suggestion — the generator will not silently roll the date forward for you.
• COMMERZBANK_ISO_001: Structured Address Compliance. This is a warning, not a hard failure, but Commerzbank's own ISO 20022 enforcement is moving toward requiring separated street and building-number elements rather than one free-text line. Map street name and building number into their own Excel columns so the generator can emit them as distinct address components.

Prepare Excel without creating a repair queue

1. Put the execution/value date in its own column, at least one business day out from the date you plan to generate and submit the file.
2. Split the beneficiary address into separate street name and building number columns instead of one combined address line.
3. Select Commerzbank when generating. The converter applies pain.001.001.03, default batch booking, and the future-date and address-structure checks automatically.
